Introducing:

Cindy DaRosa

Hi, I'm Cindy, a friend of Tracy's! I'm excited to be able to contribute a few reviews for this website, because I really like to refer to it myself and choose books from it. I have been married for nine years and have two children: a three-year-old daughter and a one-year-old son. I am also a teacher; I've taught grades three, five, and six. Right now I get to stay home with my kids and substitute teach a little. I enjoy volunteering in children's activities at my Evangelical church, but I spend most of my days taking my kids out to visit other kids so that I can visit with their moms. It gives me a sanity break and uses up their energy!

I have a deep faith in God, beginning with asking Him to forgive my sins and be the leader in my life. I know that He is interested in everything I do, and I try to keep my life lined up with His priorities. It requires daily focus. I definitely wouldn't want to take back the control of my life, because I've seen the mess I can make on my own!

So, I'm here because I love to read, and I really enjoy Christian fiction. I have trouble getting into "how to live" books; I need a story to hold my attention. But I do learn from good fiction authors too. I read some non-Christian authors too, but I don't find too many that are free from profanity and messed-up morals, and I believe it's really important to watch what I fill my mind with.

Among my favorite authors are Bodie Thoene, Judith Pella, Penelope J. Stokes, Dee Henderson, and Jan Karon. It's a great day when I find out that one of them has a new book out. I like a captivating plot, with believable characters, real problems, and not too much mushy romance. And of course I love reading to my kids, though my son doesn't sit still very long. I like Lisa Tawn Bergren's God Gave Us You and Max Lucado's kids' books.

Well, that's a little about me, and I hope I can give you some input on books to help you choose what you want to read too!

~ Cindy
