The Phillips / Pella
writing team had its beginning in the long-standing
friendship of Michael and Judy Phillips with Judith
Pella. Michael Phillips, with a number of nonfiction
books to his credit, had been writing for several years.
During a Bible study at Pella's home he chanced upon
a half-completed sheet of paper sticking out of a typewriter.
His author's instincts aroused, he inspected it more
closely, and asked their friend, "Do you write?"
A discussion followed, common interests were explored,
and it was not long before the Phillips invited Pella
to their home for dinner to discuss collaboration on
a proposed series of novels. Thus, the best-selling
"Stonewycke" books were born, which led in
turn to "The Highland Collection," and the
"Journals of Corrie Belle Hollister."
Michael Phillips, who
holds a degree from Humboldt State University and continues
his post-graduate studies in history, owns and operates
Christian bookstores on the West Coast. He is the editor
of the best-selling George MacDonald Classic Reprint
Series and is also MacDonald's biographer. The Phillips
also live in Eureka with their three sons. (c) Bethany

I have very much enjoyed
the books in "The Russians" series. I also
enjoyed reading "The Stonewycke Legacy." I
have not yet read "The Highland Collection,"
"The Journals of Corrie Belle Hollister,"
or "The Stonewycke Trilogy," but would like
to in the future.
