| The Very Hungry
Caterpillar
is a classic in Children's Literature. It is bright
and colourful with only a sentence per page. It
depicts the life of a caterpillar who eats and eats
and eats until he is so big he changes into a butterfly.
While this is a classic book in which the children
can see the holes the caterpillar eats through each
item, it is best for children who are old enough
to be careful with their books. The board book version
of this book would be best for children under the
age of 3. Although this book has pages that are
thick and shiny, they could be easily destroyed
by aggressive fingers and wet mouths. Eric Carle
is known for his bright, realistic-like drawings
and simple story lines. Ages 3+ |
