This is my first encounter with any works of fiction by Lisa Tawn Bergren. I enjoyed her book, Treasure. It is filled with romance, danger, mystery, and intrigue. Although I found the hero to be unlikeable at first, even though he undergoes a rapid character change after a while, I tolerated him for the sake of the story. I found the heroine to be somewhat dependent on the hero to "rescue" her, although there are several times when she must rely on her own wits to escape her dangerous pursuers. I found this book to fit nicely into the genre in which it falls, even if the characters were a bit too "formula" bound for my tastes. It was definitely a good afternoon diversion from daily life.
