This compelling novel is a story about secrets that can threaten lives and marriages. Melissa James has carried a secret for many, many years. Kept it even from her beloved husband. Now, forces from her past compell her to confront her secrets and flee to the safety of an Amish community. It is while staying in the home of Lela in the midst of an Amish community, that Melissa confronts her lies and fear and accepts the peace of God as she accepts the promises He gives to all who seek him. Will her new found faith be strong enough to lean on when she discovers her husband has secrets of his own? Will she ever receive red roses again from her beloved husband? Or are their secrets too bad to bring about a reconcilation between them?

I enjoyed this novel by Beverly and David Lewis as much as I have enjoyed her other novels set in the quaint Amish communities around Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. It is a definite must read for those who have enjoyed her other Amish trilogy series and various other books with this setting. I wonder what contribution Beverly's husband, David, had with this particular book as she was solo author in her other Amish books? Hmmm. Perhaps another reader out there will see his part in this particular novel and e-mail me. I always look forward to another book by Beverly Lewis and will surely devour it as quickly and easily as Sanctuary. Keep up the fantastic novels, Beverly!!
