Sara is terrified. She’s doing the one thing she cannot afford to do: fall in love with former pro-football player Adam Black, a man everyone knows. Sara’s been hidden away in the witness protection program, her safety dependent on staying invisible–and loving Adam could get her killed!
Introducing the O’Malleys, an inspirational group of seven, all abandoned or orphaned as teens, who have made the choice to become a loyal and committed family. They have chosen their own surname, O’Malley, and have stood by each other through moments of joy and heartache. Their stories are told in CBA best-selling, inspirational romantic suspense novels that rock your heart and restore strength and hope to your spirit.
In this prequel to her O’Malley series, Henderson captured my interest with her ability to write a believable mystery story. I hesitated to pick up a “mystery” because I don’t like to be frightened; it’s not entertaining to me. But this author finds a balance between spine-tingling suspense and trust in God, and I’m hooked! It is the story of a children’s writer, Sara Walsh, who goes to extreme lengths to stay unnoticed, and her very close brother, Dave Richman, her personal FBI agent. To her fright and dismay, she is noticed by a professional football player, Adam Black, who finds her intriguing enough to track her down. He is determined to find out why she is so reclusive, and what causes her severe panic attacks. He faces a huge challenge: to get past her brother, Sara herself, and her past which has not stopped stalking her… This is an enthralling read which brings faith in God into the reality of a godless world. Are we willing to believe that He’s big enough to handle our greatest fear?
