I have fallen in love with this series already! This book was just as fantastic as the following ones in this series! Each book in the series is a completely separate novel from the one before and the one after so that you can pick up any of them and begin reading. They are similar in that each of the main characters display strength, intelligence, faithfulness to God, and a penchant for unraveling a mystery. The characters are well developed and the story line has you guessing what will happen next and then being surprised when the events are revealed. Linda Chaikin is a fantastic writer and this series is no exception. Go ahead and invest in this first book in this new series! You won't be disappointed!

Krista von Buren, a beautiful and famous model, finds herself and her family involved in espionage and intrigue as she becomes involved in solving a scandal that dates back to Hitler's Germany. She finds her life in upheaval with the appearance of a handsome Israeli secret police officer who is working with a journalist to uncover this banking scandal. Could it be that her very own family were key players in this scandal? Krista learns to find her true happiness in her faith in God and not in her physical beauty as she also discovers true love with someone who loves her for the beauty of her heart and soul.

I couldn't put this book down even though it was Christmas holidays and we had a house full of people. I had to keep reading every spare moment I could find! This book has romance, passion for God, intrigue, mystery, and espionage.

The main character, Valli Chattaine, is a prima ballerina with the Paris Ballet Company. Her career is just beginning to take off when it is threatened by the break out of the Second World War and the great threat to Paris by the Nazi's waiting to break through the famous Maginot Line. Valli must decide whether to continue her career during occupation by the Germans or flee before they arrive. To escalate things, she is asked to take on an espionage role and befriend a Nazi soldier who has romantic interests in her in order to seek out information for the French Foreign Legion. The Captain of the Foreign Legion happens to be an old acquaintance of hers and she must also face her tumultuous feelings about this handsome young soldier. Will Valli chose to risk her life for the sake of France?

This was another nail biter and had my heart beating in triple time in several places as the heroine faced danger and the adrenaline rush made me want to continue reading far past my bed time!

Vanessa Miles has come to England from the United States to be closer to her young RAF pilot brother, Kylie; her boyfriend, Andy Warnstead; and her father, Robert Miles, who abandoned Vanessa and Kylie when they were infants. She believes her father is somewhere in England but soon discovers that he is in nearby Scotland. Facing extreme emotions from anger at their abandonment to longing to know the father she has dreamed about for years, she must decide whether she will take the first step and travel to Scotland to visit him as he lays on his sick bed. She must also decide whether she will try to persuade her brother to join her in her quest. This mission will not be easily accomplished because her brother is pretty set in his anger and bitterness towards his father and wants no opportunity to visit him until tragedy strikes. Vanessa also discovers feelings aroused within her for the handsome young gardener on the family estate. What will she decide about her forthcoming engagement to her young RAF boyfriend, Andy, versus her intense feelings for this young stranger. Meanwhile, she experiences a mystery and murder on the small island and her own life is threatened. Will she escape the murderous intent of someone on the island or give her life before she even begins to know her father? What of the war beginning to break upon English soil? Someone she loves will lose their life. Who will it be? Read this exciting book to find out the answers to these questions and may more that will be brought to your mind as you read this intense novel!
