Come, My Little Angel
by Diane Noble is a wonderful little book perfect for a
long afternoon curled up with a cup of tea. The main character
is a precocious and delightful young girl who sees angels
who prompt her to write a play titled, "Come, My Little
Angel." When she presents this play to the people in
her life who are important to her, she experiences rejection.
What this town needs is clearly a miracle in the hearts
of its' members. The reader wonders throughout the novella
whether God will soften the hearts of the adult characters
in time for the miracle to be delivered and the heart of
young Daisy James to be healed. Acting in what she believes
to be her daughter's best interests, Daisy's mother, Abigail,
is one of the people who needs God's forgiveness and love
the most. Daisy's teacher, who feels the healing touch of
the music and recognizes Daisy's special gift, also needs
deliverance from his alcoholism. Thus is the basic plot
given in a quick and consise way, not doing justice to the
beautiful story at all.
This novella is sure
to entertain, delight, and soften your own heart as you
read along. Perhaps by the end of it you will also be glancing
heavenward for a glimpse of God's angels! Go ahead and read
this one! You will be blessed!
