Lone Star Christmas

Someone is Rustling Up a Little Holiday Matchmaking in Four Delightful Stories

Authors: Pamela Griffen, Cathy Marie Hake,

Vickie McDonough and Kathleen V'Arbo

As the subtitle description suggests, these novellas are "delightful" and old-fashioned. Set in the late 1800's, it revolves around a set of 4 retired Texas Rangers who create their own town on the prairie, Cut Corners. With nothing but time on their hands for dominos and match- making, they set romance in motion for four sets of couples. If you are looking for a collection of short stories to escape into during the busy time before and after the Christmas holidays, then this is the book for you. It's a great read and the characters stick with you for a while.

Back Cover:

Anything can happen when four meddlesome, retired Texas Rangers try their hand at matchmaking.

After Peony Potter sweeps into Cut Corners, Texas, a crime wave hits town. When the sheriff begins his investigation, he finds that all clues lead to her door.

Newcomer Lacey Mather is warming hearts and stomachs at Millie's Diner. But come Christmas, she'll be heading back North unless a closemouthed blacksmith with a will of iron can change her mind.

Erik Olson is shocked when Anna Campbell arrives in town with two small orphans in tow and claims they are his brother's children. Will Erik prove her statements false and see her gone by Christmas?

Travis McCoy is a nomadic photographer with no time to put down roots, find a wife, and raise a family. But when he enters Cut Corners, the temptations to change are strong.

As Christmas draws near, clandestine meetings are held and plans are afoot to foil plots to leave town. Will the folks of Cut Corners learn that no matter what plans they held, God is the grandest planner of them all? (c) Lone Star Christmas, 2005
