During the fall of 1779,
the spark of freedom is at its lowest ebb. The fledgling county
is so weary of war that a majority of Americans are almost
ready to accept a peace that would comprise the Declaration
of Independence. In a last-ditch attempt to keep the freedom
fires burning, America sends her fleet to attack a British
fort on the Penobscot Bay in eastern Maine. Though the Americans
possess a superior force, the mission inexplicably ends in
total defeat -- a disaster cloaked in conspiracy as infamous
as Pearl Harbor. What follows is a court martial hearing that
threatens to tear the fragile nation apart. Day after day
of agonizing testimony and accusations fail to reveal how
the American fleet was lost, until a surprise witness makes
a revelation that ignites a powder keg. Captain Artimas Seahawk
arrives out of nowhere, and finds himself in the middle of
a frantic race where forces of good and evil battle to find
a secret treaty that could change the course of history. (c)

I was pleased to receive this book from
the author and read it fairly quickly. I found it enjoyable
and would characterize it as following in the tradition of
authors such as Frank E. Peretti and his novels on battles
in the spiritual realm. Although it is a departure from my
normal Christian Fiction choices, it was a pleasant diversion
and I would recommend anyone who is fascinated with battles
in the spiritual realm or the active influence of Satan in
our lives to read this book. The main characters represent
evil and good; Satan and an angel. I look forward to reading
any more books published by this author.
