Hope gave up on true love
long ago when faced with the realities of frontier life. But
now, with the aftermath of her husband's death and with the
return of Michael, her childhood beau, Hope's life opens up
before her in unexpected ways. Years ago, Michael's father
destroyed any hope Michael might have of making a respectable
name for himself. Prejudice runs deep in Reardon Valley, and
now Michael must again suffer the consequences of his father's
dishonesty. But as Hope and Michael face the obstacles the
town sets before them, they discover that they can still hear
love's echo in the beating of their tender hearts. (c)
book cover, An Echo of Hope, Dianna Crawford
This is the first novel I
have read by Dianna Crawford and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
It follows in the tradition of novels that have come before
with the issues of first love, angst of forbidden love, and
love that must brave and be tested through much animosity
and distrust of others. I enjoyed the characters, the plot,
and the love story throughout this novel. It reminds me that
each person must be judged for their own actions, not those
of relatives or friends that have come before.
Even though I haven't read
the first two in the Reardon Valley Series, I felt I wasn't
missing any pertinent information from them. I did enjoy the
characters of Reardon Valley and will keep my eyes open for
the first two in the series.
I would recomend this novel
to a friend as a good read.
