Common Sense Parenting
presents a practical, common-sense approach to rearing
children in the 1990's. Kent and Barbara Hughes present
simple and creative ideas to help you raise a godly
family and have fun in the process. They draw from Biblical
instruction as well as their own thirty years of child-rearing
experience in this warm and intimate book. Chapter topics
include promoting affection between members of your
family, using appropriate discipline, and imparting
godliness to your children. And the book is loaded with
helpful tips for establishing a solid family heritage
- like how to start holiday traditions or planning fun
and affordable family vacations. There's even a section
of Hughes family favourite recipes! Easy to read, easy
to implement, Common Sense Parenting will help you be
the parent you want to be. (c) Tyndale House Publishers
I really liked this
book on Christian parenting! It is filled with lots
of good ideas on fostering a family identity, praying
for your children, establishing routines and traditions,
and enjoying your children to the utmost! Although a
lot of the information was more applicable to school
age children, there is no time like the present to start
implementing habits that will carry you through your
child's life! Even though I have an 18 month old, I
plan to read this book again and put at least some of
the suggestions into practice now. I wholeheartedly
recommend this to any parent who wants to improve and
be the best they can be!
